“The price of bread is rising everyday and I don’t know why. Government should check what is the cause in the rise in the price of bread because it seems bread is becoming only for the rich which is not good for our country.
“You know bread is common food in Nigeria and no matter, no matter the amount is being sold, people will always manage to buy. What people need to do is to minimize the quantity they eat”.
“The price of bread now is too high and also small and the price is affecting everyone because most Nigerians like bread”.
The respondents observed that, with the way things are going, soon bread will only be eaten by the rich.
On their part, Bread sellers said they were surprised at the rate the price of bread kept increasing daily.
They however said that they sell the bread as they buy.
“ “The major cause for the high price of bread is because of high inflation and exchange rate”.
“If I buy #350, I sell #400 because the price of bread is in the high side which made the price of bread to be expensive”.
“Before I was buying small bread #70 to sell at #80 now I buy at #85 to sell at #100“.
Since the advent of covid 19 last year, the price of food stuffs went up drastically and flour is among the worst hit.
