…..appeals to Nigerians to visit only registered centres
The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC has again warned Nigerians to, in their quest to receive covid19 vaccines, be cautious of counterfeiters.
NAFDAC Director of Inspection and Enforcement, Mr. Kingsley Ejiofor in an interview with Newsreel said the agency’s post-marketing surveillance unit was already on-the lookout to ensure safety of Nigerians.
“Members of the public should make sure they go to the right place for vaccination, not to just any centre, because we know what these counterfeiters can do”
Mr. Ejiofor who stated that reports on social media of illegal vaccination centres were yet to be confirmed, noted that the agency would always be alive to its responsibility to track down the activities of peddlers of unwholesome drugs.
“Don’t go to where there is secrecy around it. So, if there is any pro-vaccination health challenges, it can be easily traced.”
Meanwhile, the second phase of the national vaccination against Covid-19 pandemic is underway in Lagos
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has said vaccination is necessary to curb the spread of the deadly Coronavirus.
He called on members of the public to take advantage of the opportunity to get their jabs against the virus.
