He summarized the prescribed healthy lifestyles for men with the acronym , “F. E N. D. E. S. S. S. S. R”, with F- standing for good food, E-emotional intelligence, N-going natural, D-detoxification of the body,E-regular exercise, S-stres control,S- supplementation of diet, S-regular medical screening,S-sexual agility and R- adequate rest.
According to Dr. Williams, from 35 years of age, the consumption of surgery things as well as animal proteins including red meat, is dangerous as they amount to inviting sickness in old age.
The doctor advised that to maintain an optimum age for persons within that age bracket, especially men, they should aim to eat twice daily, minimize stress, limit their intake of energy drinks, and avoid abusing drugs.
In his words, “Everybody can be sickness-free, but you need to put in a lot of work inside it.
” God’s purpose for us is to be sickness free, but we need to put the works of faith behind it.
“Some Christians say, I believe I’m above sickness, so they don’t do anything about it, that’s wrong. Rather, you believe that you have divine healing, that’s why you should do something about it.
“You believe that you are already healed and you are healthy. That’s why you do the things you need to do in order to be healthy.
Plant based protein contains less poison in the body”, he stated.
Additionally, Dr. Williams recommended to older couples the use of condoms in order to enhance their sexual life.
According to him, condom use is not only for preventing infections, and avoiding pregnancies when one is not ready to welcome new babies, it also helps significantly to last longer during sex
Shedding more light on the need for couples to boost their sexual life and spice up their marriage, he said, “We need it (sex). God created it. We are created for His glory. God created it so that we can use it to glorify Him. We should not leave it for the devil and his audience”.
The Chief Host, Pastor Biyi Famoyegun said the annual event which began in 2023 has helped empower men, by connecting them to those who would transform their lives and impacting in them the knowledge to be successful.
He stated that the theme of this year’s event, “The evidence of His Glory” was instructive and relevant now when the world is undergoing trying times.
He explained that, “In 2024, God inspired us with a vision to gather men together every year for the purpose of sharing in His blessings as a natural group in the body of Christ.
“This yearly gathering christened the, Anchor Conference, is our brand for the population of men in RCCG Lagos Province 16 under the umbrella of “The Redeemer Men’s Fellowship” (RMF).
“Last year, we had an incredible time of Visitation during the maiden edition themed “Still Standing” and in line with that promise, we are still standing by God’s grace today despite all the challenges of our times.
“This year, the theme”The Evidence of His Glory ” is instructive, we are persuaded that given the current world events, the time is ripe for God to come and differentiate between the righteous and the wicked, between those who are still standing for Him and those standing against him (Malachi 3:18).
“This conference is therefore a peculiar one that demands our rapt attention; consequently, let us submit ourselves to learning and flowing with God’s spirit through the competent hands which the Lord has put together to galvanize us through this spiritual empowerment gateway”.
“I sincerely pray that at the end of this conference, we shall all return rejoicing with “The evidence of God’s glory” in our lives , our families, our work spaces and in our walk with the Lord in the mighty name of Jesus”, he added.
On his part, the General Secretary, Redeemers Men Fellowship, Lagos Province 16, Pastor Charles Okeibunor harped on the need for men to go back to basics in the training of their children and wards, making sure that they grow with the right moral values.
Okeibunor expressed optimism that the annual Men’s event has been very impactful, with lots of men assisted to start businesses, acquire properties and help maneuver their life’s challenges.
He also noted that through the programme, some of them have been connected to people to patronize them in their businesses.
In his words, “We have tried to identify men from amongst us who require support and for some of them, we have given them specific support. For example, people who want to start small businesses like dry cleaning and others, we bought startup materials for them.
“People from the Men’s Fellowship should patronize their members, so we have achieved that.
“We have tried to strengthen the bond of networking among ourselves. Typically, men don’t talk about what their challenges are. So, we have created repeated fora for them to be able to express themselves and talk about challenges that are peculiar to them-their health, their finances and their families”, he said.
The two days event which commenced on Friday 30th to Saturday 31st August, 2024 featured impactful lectures by accomplished speakers including Pastor (Mrs) Adeola Mensah, Pastor in charge of RCCG Middle East Region 2, Turkey, with the Headquarters at RCCG Jesus Sanctuary,37, Masha Road, Masha, Surulere; Senior Pastor Bayo Olugbemi, an astute Investment Banker; Chigozie Onyenwe, a financial consultant and an associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria; Dr. Leke Olufade, CEO Tbs Consulting and Pastor Banky Ladele, lawyer and Bible Scholar.
