About BondFM
Bond Fm as a branch of FRCN (Radio Nigeria) was established on the 20th September, 1987 as the third FRCN station in Lagos, it was named Radio Nigeria 3.
Radio Nigeria 3 was the second FM station in Africa Radio Nigeria 2, the sunshine station now Metro FM.
The FRCN has its headquarters in Lagos then, when the management observed that there was no radio station in Lagos that communicated originally in the People’s language. They decided to establish an Fm station that will communicate to grass root people in their own local language. Hence, Radio Nigeria 3 popularly known as R.N 3 was established and broadcasting to Lagos and its environs in four different languages: Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo and Pidgin with a slogan R.N 3 the people’s station.
The widely acceptability of Radio Nigeria 3 by the people of Lagos and its environs transformed the Nigeria Frequency modulation which led to the numerous Fm station in Lagos today but Radio Nigeria 3 was maintaining its standard till 1st December, 2004. On the 1st of January 2005, to wear a new look and attract radio commercial market, the then Executive Director of Lagos FRCN, Prince Atilade Atoyebi changed the name to Bond Fm which means the radio station that unites Nigeria with different Languages.
Bond Fm as won several awards which include THE BEST RADIO STAION in the year 2017 & 2018
