Lagos State Government Renews Its Promise to Provide Quality Education

The Lagos State Government says that it would continue to work at bringing free and quality education to the Nigerian Child in line with the fourth agenda of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.

The Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Obafemi Hazmat said this at the inauguration of the Akinsanya Ajaloleru Nursery and Primary School, Ilamoshe, Ejigbo Lagos state.

He said that giving every Child quality Basic education right from the formative age would provide the child with a solid educational foundation on which a future educational pursuit could be built.

Making specific reference to the newly inaugurated Akinsanya Ajaloleru Nursery and Primary School Ilamoshe
Ejigbo, the deputy Governor said that the new school had been well equipped to meet the basic education needs of children in the community and its environs.

Dr. Hazmat stressed that apart from the fact that the new nursery and primary school could compete favourably with private schools in the area, parents had now been given the opportunity to send their wards to school at little or no cost.

He emphasized that by having the school close to the community, children would not longer need to cross the ever busy Oke-Afa road every day to get to school.

He however, called on the community to make good use of the school in the interest of future generation.

The Executive Chairman, Ejigbo Local Council Development Area, Alhaji Monsurudeen Bello said that already, the school had enrolled more than three hundred and fifty students.

He explained that going by the good appearance of the school and the calibre of teachers deployed there by the State Universal Education Board, some parents had withdrawn their wards from private schools around the area and enrolled them in the new Public Nursery and Primary school.

He however, announced that government had offered every student in the school free school uniforms and bag.
