2021 Supplementary budget passes second reading at the Senate

The Senate has passed the over 895. 8 billion naira Supplementary appropriation bill for second reading.

President Muhammdu Buhari had yesterday, transmitted the Supplementary budget for the 2021 fiscal year to the National Assembly for consideration and approval.

A substantial part of the fund has been earmarked for procurement of military hardware to prosecute the war against insurgency and banditry.

Federal Government is also expected to use part of the fund for the purchase of COVID-19 vaccines and other health-related needs.

Senate President, Ahmad Lawan referred the Bill to the Committee on Appropriations for further legislative work and to report back on Tuesday next week.
