The Federal government will today take delivery of one hundred and seventy six thousand doses of the Johnson and Johnson, J&J COVID-19 vaccine.

This is coming one week after the Federal Government took delivery of four million doses of mordena Covid-19 vaccines donated by the US government.

The Executive Director, National Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Faisal Shuaib, said the J&J vaccine is safe.

He said, like the AstraZeneca, it is safe and efficient against the coronavirus disease, including the deadly Delta variant.

He said unlike AstraZeneca the J&J vaccine is a single-shot vaccine.

The second phase of vaccination will now commence next Monday.

It was initially billed to start today but was postponed.
