LAWMAKERS MANDATE FEDERAL MINISTRY OF WORKS TO URGENTLY REPAIR BAD ROADS ACROSS THE COUNTRY

The House of Representatives has resolved to mandate the federal Ministry of Works and housing to commence emergency repairs on all the roads and bridges across the nation affected by rain.

This was sequel to a motion by member from Ogun State, Mr. Isiaka Ibrahim at plenary.

The lawmaker stated that the recent torrential rain experienced accross the country in the last three months had caused severe damages to roads and bridges in different parts of the country.

According to him, no region in the country was spared as bridges and culverts had been submerged, roads collapsed and access to many towns and cities accross the nation were also affected.

Adopting the motion, the house also mandated the federal Ministry of works and housing to present an action plan that may require any less duty framework for immediate intervention.
