Aggrieved Vigilantes Kill Three Suspected Robbers In Igando…

Aggrieved residents of Igando, a suburb of Lagos State have allegedly killed three suspected members of a robbery gang who invaded their community.

The suspects according to residents were members of the ‘One Million Boys’ terror gang, who had earlier written a letter to inform them that they were coming and of the need for residents to keep cash for them or have their wrists chopped off.

A resident of the area, Mr Ojo Majekodunmi, said, they got the information on Monday night that the bad boys were approaching the area so they formed vigilante group to protect themselves.

He said the robbers arrived at Sadiku Olowora street in the early hours of yesterday around five o clock in the morning.

Mr Majekodunmi said Cutlasses and a lighter were found on them and that during interrogation, one of them confessed that the lighter was meant to burn victims.

They allegedly pleaded for mercy saying that they were forced to burgle homes because of hunger.

Seven members of the vigilante group have been arrested by policemen from Ikotun division for taking laws into their hands by killing the suspects robbers.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Mr Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered for further investigation into the matter.
