TRAIN/BRT ACCIDENT.

The bus with registration number 04A- 48LA was fully loaded with staff going to their offices around seven o’clock this morning when the unfortunate incident occurred.
At least five people have been feared dead when a moving train collided with a Lagos State Government staff bus at PWD area in Ikeja.
The spokesperson for the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, Mr Taofiq Adebayo, who confirmed the incident said scores were also injured and have been taken to the hospital for treatment.
Eyewitnesses especially passengers on board the train, blamed the driver of the bus for not heeding to the blair of horn of the train from as far as Ikeja bus stop before PWD spot of the tragic incident.
Senior Correspondent Abiola Peters who was at the scene reports that victims of the accident included persons hanging on the train which took off from Abeokuta in Ogun State.
An eyewitness, Mr Musa Hayatou, who is a resident of Sogunle, narrated how the accident happened.
The eyewitnesses also blamed the unfortunate incident on the absence of officials of the Nigeria Railway Corporation who control movement at terminals, whenever a train approaches.
They expressed disappointment over the late arrival of the emergency service providers, despite the closeness of the scene to the Lagos State General Hospital and Police State Command.
The sympathisers demanded regular training of drivers to observe safety standards on the road in order to prevent loss of innocent lives.
As at the time of this report, a crane has removed the bus from the rail track
