Lagos plans to get three million residents on health insurance in the next one year.

The Lagos State Government plans to get about three million residents on its Health Insurance Scheme over the next one year.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Civic Engagement, Princess Aderemi Adebowale made this known during a joint news briefing in Alausa Ikeja with the Lagos State Health Management Agency, LASHMA.
Princess Adebowale who was represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Office, Mr. Kayode Ogunnubi announced that the measure was part of the THEMES agenda of the current administration to ensure overall health of Lagosians and that her office in collaboration with LASHMA would be embarking on a vigorous registration drive across all the Local Council Areas in the State to achieve the set target.
In her remarks, LASHMA General Manager, Dr Emmanuela Zamba announced that currently, five thousand two hundred and seven thousand persons have been registered on the Scheme which kicked off about six years ago.
Dr Zamba who said two hundred and twenty two health facilities are registered as service providers explained that a flexible payment plan had been instituted to make it easier for all residents, especially the less privileged to access quality healthcare.
