There is a heavy presence of security operatives on Ikorodu road to Ketu via Tipper Garage as gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections hold today in Lagos.

Our Correspondent reports that Police officers at the old toll gate along Lagos Ibadan expressway stop and check every vehicle without election duty stickers on them as of seven o’clock this morning.

While motorists driving along Ikorodu garage were turned back by security personnel while some residents rush to board any available vehicle before the restriction period commences.

The Inspection General of Police, Mr Akali Baba, has ordered restrictions between the hours of eight o’clock in the morning to six o’clock in the evening during elections.

However, the Governorship election will not hold in eight States which are Anambra, Bayelsa, Edo, Ekiti, Imo, Kogi, Osun, and Ondo as their elections are held off-season due to litigations and court judgments.
