FOURTEEN YEAR OLD GIRL COMMITS SUICIDE IN SHOGUNLE AREA OF LAGOS

A fourteen-year-old girl identified as Desola Adeoye, has committed suicide in Shogunle area of Lagos. Radio One gathered that Desola took her life by drinking an insecticide to escape untold violence in the hands of her father, Mr Sunday Adeoye and her step mother.

Confirming the maltreatment of Desola and her two siblings, one of the deceased neighbors who pleaded anonymity said Desola was threaten by her step mother after returning from summer lesson which led to the ugly decision by the teenager.

We hear that the father attempted to quickly bury his daughter secretly before members of the Community Development Association alerted officers from Shogunle Divisional Police station.

Chief Operating Officer of Advocates for Children and Vulnerable Persons Network, Mr. Ebenezer Omejalile, therefore called on Lagos State government, the Nigeria Police and Nigeria Bar Association to rescue the remaining two children still under the care of the couple and also get justice for the late Desola
