Governor Sanwo-Olu Swears in New Cabinet Members

The Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu has sworn in seven executive members into his cabinet.

Three of them were former appointees who resigned their appointments to pursue political offices, while four are newly appointed.

Those reappointed are the Special Adviser to the Governor on Housing, Mrs Toke Benson-Awoyinka and her Civic Engagement Counterpart, Princess Aderemi Sobowale, while Mr Sola Giwa the erstwhile Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Central Business Districts, replaces Mr. Toyin Fayinka as SA Transportation, Mr Olufemi Martins replaces Mr Solomon Bonus as the SA Tourism and Culture

Dr Babajide Abiodun was appointed as SA eGIS and Planning matters, while Abiola Olowu is the new SA Commerce and Industry as Mr Bolaji Roberts becomes the Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.

In his remarks, Governor Sanwo-Olu urged the appointees not to see the office as opportunity for self service, but as opportunity to impact the grassroots in line with his administration’s THEMES agenda and for a greater Lagos.

Governor Sanwo-Olu aslo used the occasion to reassure Lagosians of his administration’s commitment to make the city more livable for them through the handing over of renewed infrastructural projects in the coming days and solicited their continued support.

Responding on behalf of the appointees, the SA to the Governor on Housing, Mrs Toke Benson-Awoyinka thanked the Governor for deeming them worthy and promised that they would give their best.

Correspondent Omolara Omosanya reports that the event was attended by families and friends of the appointees as well as some traditional rulers, some past and serving members of the State House of Assembly and former Commissioners in the State.
