LAGOS NAWOJ CELEBRATES FEMALE MINISTERS

The Nigerian Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) Lagos State Chapter has extended her warmest congratulations to the newly appointed Ministers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and most importantly, the female ministers.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by its Chairperson, Dr Adeola Ekine in Lagos on Wednesday.
Ekine said that the female ministers are Dr. Betta Edu (Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation), Lola Ade-John (Minister of Tourism), Doris Anite (Industry, Trade and Investment), Nkiruka Onyejeocha (State, Labour and Employment), Uju Kennedy (Women Affairs), and Hannatu Musawa (Art, Culture and the Creative Economy).
“We also seize the opportunity to congratulate Engr Bisoye Coker-Odusote who has been appointed as the Acting Director-General (DG) of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).
“This momentous achievement is a testament to the dedication, expertise, and unwavering commitment of these outstanding women to public service and the betterment of our nation” Ekine said.
She said Lagos NAWOJ applauds the visionary leadership demonstrated by the Nigerian Government in recognizing the invaluable contributions that women bring to the development and progress of our nation.
Ekine said with these appointments, NAWOJ celebrate not only the empowerment of women but also the further enrichment of our nation’s governance with diverse perspectives and expertise.
She said Lagos NAWOJ applauds the visionary leadership demonstrated by the Nigerian Government in recognizing the invaluable contributions that women bring to the development and progress of our nation.
She said with these appointments, NAWOJ celebrate not only the empowerment of women but also the further enrichment of our nation’s governance with diverse perspectives and expertise.
She said that as advocates for gender equality and women’s empowerment, Lagos NAWOJ was inspired by the achievements of these newly appointed female ministers.
The Chairperson said that their ascent to these esteemed positions send a powerful message to the younger generation of women that there are no limits to what could be achieved with determination, hard work, and dedication.
Ekine said that NAWOJ believed that these appointments would serve as a stepping stone towards greater inclusivity and diversity in our nation’s leadership.
She said that the accomplishments of these women remind us that when women are given equal opportunities, they contribute significantly to the growth and prosperity of our country.
She said it was a rare and privileged opportunity given to them to serve and NAWOJ trust them to put their best feet forward, hit the ground running and bring out the best in their various ministries and make us proud!
