LASEMA HOSTS FELLOWS OF LATEEF JAKANDE LEADERSHIP ACADEMY ON A LEARNING VISIT.

Information and Communication are key to aid efficient emergency management in any society.
Hence, the need for Lagos residents to always use the state’s emergency toll free lines 112 and 767 to report only factual incidences for prompt responses.
Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, Dr Femi Oke-Osayintolu, stated this when fellows of the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy, LJLA, came on a learning visit to the control center of the Agency at Alausa.
Dr Oke-Osayintolu who appreciated the young professionals for aspiring to acquire more knowledge in emergency management, took them on a tour round LASEMA facilities with a call on them to imbibe the culture of discipline and respect in all ramifications of their lives to attain leadership positions.
” I am really excited to be with these young minds and professional to brainstorm and put them through what we do in LASEMA and educate them on discipline and respect in accordance with civil service policies”
The Executive Secretary of the Academy, Mrs. Ayisat Agbaje-Okunade, stated that the annual fellowship was intended to mentor young Nigerians by providing them with the opportunity to contribute to the nation’s recovery through inclusive, sustainable, and development solutions.
Mrs Agbaje-Okunade who hinted that the fellows of the Academy would also engage in four months paid job in different Ministries and parastatals for leadership development, community service and fellowship network, commended LASEMA for its proactiveness in managing emergency cases in good time.
” We have seen that leadership is a challenge and the Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu’s administration deem it fit to catch them young and prepare them for leadership through through innovative ideology”
Some of the fellows applauded the state government for investing hugely in equipment and building first responders capacity in handling crisis without encumbrances.
“We are excited to be here and the level of organization and coordination seen here today shows Lagos is working and there is hope of a better Nigeria, the passion of the PS LASEMA shows he knows his onions on the job and it is highly commendable”
Over thirty young leadership fellows aged between thirty and thirty five were on the learning visit to LASEMA where they toured the control call center among others.
