LASUBEB BEGINS 14 DAYS FREE EYE SCREENING FOR TEACHERS IN LAGOS

The Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board, LASUBEB, in collaboration with the AMA foundation has begun a fourteen-day free medical eye screening for teachers in the state.The initiative according to the Executive Chairman, LASUBEB, Dr Hakeem Shittu, statement, is to ensure the adequate well-being of public primary school teachers in the state.Dr Shittu, expressed his gratitude to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his relentless support in ensuring the welfare and well-being of classroom managers and for opening up the space for effective collaboration to enhance the delivery of quality basic education in the state.He noted that the medical outreach will continue until seventh of next month at two centres, of St. Agnes Primary School, Maryland, and Oshodi Primary School.Dr. Shittu commended the AMA Foundation for the collaborative effort focused on addressing visual health issues by offering eye screening, cataract surgery, medical consultation, free drugs, and mental health awareness to the staff.He urged the teachers to take maximum advantage of the opportunity targeted at, over ten thousand teachers, to examine their eyes.On his part, the Director of Administration, AMA Foundation, Mr Sa’id Bello, expressed the organisation’s commitment to supporting the improvement of quality teaching and learning through various interventions.Iyeh Enema
