Despite the many challenges confronting the nation, there are multiple reasons to be grateful and celebrate her 62nd independence anniversary.
Hence, there is need for the political class to leave a legacy of a better Nigeria for the younger generation.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu stated this at the independence day parade in Lagos, held at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan.
Governor Sanwo-olu who was decked in white Agbada and green cap, saluted the resilience of Nigerians in the face of economic hardship and expressed the hope that Nigeria will regain her lost glory in the comity of nations to fulfil the dreams of the nation’s founding fathers.
Governor Sanwo-olu who urged Nigerians to shun politics of bitterness as the general elections approaches, advised individuals to respect each other’s opinion at all times without violence.
The colorful event witnessed parade by different paramilitaries, students, traders, Teachers while dignitaries included Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, members of the state Executive Council, members of the diplomatic corps and voluntary Organisations.
