Activities of touts will not be tolerated within the vicinity of
Ikoyi Passport office, in Lagos.

The Passport Control Officer, PCO, of Ikoyi passport office Mr. Ibrahim Liman made the assertion in a chat with Radio One in Lagos.

Mr Liman urged members of the public who were desirous of obtaining international passports to visit the centre directly.

He also emphasized that technology had helped to hasten the process of issuing passports.

Mr Liman assured the public that the Passport Office would strengthen its existing structures to improve service delivery
“Since my assumption of this office we have cleared over ten thousand backlogged passports and we are going to continue to santize the NIS”.
The PCO urged Nigerians to go through the appropriate channel to get their international passport within six weeks.
“We are following international standard to carry out our services because we need to follow due process before we issue international passport, those that have it go outside the country to represent the country and as such we must do it well”.
Correspondent Ruth King quotes the passport control officer as saying there are a backlog of uncollected passports from 2008 till date.
