Tears As Lagos Lawmaker Abdul-Sobur Olawale Goes Home.

It was all grief and tears, as members and staff of Lagos State Assembly, led by the Speaker, Chief Mudashiru Obasa received the body of Mr. Abdul-Sobur Olayiwola-Olawale, who passed on in Jos, Plateau State.

Mr. Olayiwola-Olawale, fondly called “Omititi” reportedly died in Jos during the launch of the Presidential Campaign of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC on Tuesday, November 2022.

The remains of the lawmaker arrived at the Murtala Mohammed Airport, Ikeja in the afternoon of Wednesday and was immediately conveyed to his residence in a motorcade involving his colleagues at the assembly and their wives as well as family, friends and associates of the deceased.

The body was later moved to a Private Cemetery, Ebony Vaults in Ikoyi, where Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, joined the crowd of mourners.

The body of Omititi was interred according to Islamic rites around six in the evening.

The lawmaker, until his demise represented Mushin Constituency two in Lagos Assembly and chaired the House Committee on Local Government and Community Relations.

Born on March 12, 1964, Mr. Abdulsobur Olayiwola-Olawale became a member of Lagos Assembly in 2015, but did not secure his party, APC’s ticket to contest for a third term.
