Business empowerment has taken centre stage as the Jedlof Foundation provided financial support, business training and mentorship to widows and small business owners.
Many of the beneficiaries shared inspiring stories of how the initiative transformed their lives during an outreach by the Founder of the Jedlof Foundation, Dr. Ebele Okoye.
She said the organisation has remained committed to supporting widows, vulnerable families and children since 2022 through business grants, payment of school fees, food assistance and other humanitarian interventions.
Dr. Okoye urged beneficiaries to build their businesses on integrity, hard work and sound financial management by separating business capital from personal expenses, cultivating a savings culture and delivering quality customer service.
Many widows testified that grants from the foundation helped them establish or expand businesses, including provision stores, pastry sales and hair enterprises, enabling them to pay school fees, settle debts and provide better for their families.
Dr. Okoye thanked volunteers and partners for sustaining the foundation’s humanitarian efforts and expressed confidence that the empowerment programme would continue to restore hope and create lasting economic opportunities for more families.
