APC Unveils Crowdfunding App For Its Presidential /Vice Presidential Candidates

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has unveiled a crowdfunding App to mobilize five billion naira for its Presidential and Vice Presidential Candidates in the 2023 elections, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Senator Kashim Shetima.

In a keynote address at the event in Lagos, Senator Shettima said the initiative was aimed at leveraging the diversity in crowdfunding to engender loyalty in the people.

“A platform like this grant ownership of the political movement to the people, by contributing their hard earned resources, they become co drivers to make it their business to promote the ideals of the movement” he said.

Senator Shettima reiterated the promise that if elected into office, their adminstration would ensure national security, build a better Nigeria for the youths and make life better for all Nigerians.

In a welcome address at the event, Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, described the Crowdfunding APP as a unifier, Innovative and unique platform for everyone to engage and collaborate with the APC, to ensure the success of the Party at the Presidential Poll.

He said “This is another first, ensuring that we can use technology to support our Presidential candidate, We all can indeed put our money where our mouth is and be part of the project, I just want to appeal to all of us that this should be our own individual commitment to show that we believe in this project”

The State Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat thanked the Fund Raising Committee for the initiative noting that it would democratize funding for the election.

“If you want to donate ten naira, fifty naira, so be it, whatever it is, let everybody participate and amke sure that we elect credible leaders, for us, we have found the leaders, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Kashim Shettima” Dr Hamzat stated

The event was attended by the Chairman of the APC Fund Raising Committee, Mr. Tein Jack-Rich, Members of the State Executive Council, Organised Private Sector, Party Faithful, as well as members of the Tinubu Support Organisation and other stakeholders, many of who made use of the App while their donations were shown on screen in real time.
