ICT experts commend FG for lifting ban on Twitter.

Information Communicatin Technology experts have described the lifting of ban on Twitter as commendable as reactions continues to trail federal government lift of ban on Twitter.

Experts are of the view that it is a welcome development and advised on the need to use social media platforms responsibly.
The President Association of Telecommunications Companies of Nigeria, ATCON , Mr Ikechukwu Nnamani who said telecommunications operators have been clamouring for the ban to be lifted said it will improve economic and social aspect of life of many Nigerians because a lot of them rely on the Twitter handle for their businesses and expression of public opinions.

Mr Nnamani who expressed satisfaction on the agreement reached by federal government and Twitter, advised Nigerians to use the social media handle responsibly.

The Executive Secretary Information technology system and security group of the Nigeria computer society , Mr Rogba Adeoye said it was quite commendable, particularly the fact that the company will contribute in revenue generation through payment of taxes.
Mr Adeoye said other agreements between the Twitter and the federal government are quite good.

It will be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari, has approved the lifting of the suspension of Twitter operation in Nigeria effective from 12am 13thJanuary 2022.
A statement signed by Chairman Technical Committee Nigeria-Twitter Engagement and Director-General National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) Mallam Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi states that the approval was given following a memo written to the President by the Honourable Minister of Communicationsa and Digital Economy Dr Isah Pantammi.
