Eid-el-Kabir: Tinubu, Hamzat, others pray for Nigeria

President Bola Tinubu has called on Nigerians to live a life of sacrifice as done by Prophet Ibrahim in the Holy Quran.

He stated this in an interview after observing the Eid prayer at the Dodan Barracks Prayer Ground, Ikoyi, Lagos.

He said the Eid-el Kabir was all about sacrifice and that Nigerians should show commitment to making the country better.

The Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr Obafemi Hamzat said the government was aware of challenges people face and that the tough measures would yield good outcomes.

Dr Hamzat said challenges had always been a part of humanity and that people should show kindness to one another, while the government finds lasting solutions.

In his Eid sermon, the Chief Imam of Lagos Central Mosque, Sheikh Suleiman Abu Na’Allah recalled the sacrifices of national heroes, and urged Nigerians to shun tribalism, terrorism and all forms of vices.

Dignitaries at the prayer include the Chief of Staff to the President, Mr Femi Gbajabiamila, former Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, Speaker of the Lagos State Assembly, Chief Mudashiru Obasa, and industrialist, Alhaji Aliko Dangote.

Prayers were said for Lagos State, Nigeria and for President Tinubu’s mother, the late Alhaja Abibat Mogaji, whose eleventh memorial was on Saturday.
