Fashola Calls for Adherence To Rule of Law

The Minister of Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola, SAN, has cautioned politicians and elites against indiscriminate donations of motorcycles and tricycles to uneducated youths as “empowerment” package.

Mr. Fashola who gave this charge in Lagos at a symposium to mark his 59th birthday attributed most accidents to human causative factors.

He said in his virtual presentation that all Nigerians had a role to play in bringing about law and order in the country.

He maintained that it was incumbent on all citizens to insist on the compliance with law and order whenever their rights were being infringed upon by political office holders and those in positions of leadership.

Mr. Fashola also spoke of the importance of continuity in governance especially good governance and knowledge and understanding of leadership.

He said citizens must not only appreciate good governance when they experienced one but must also insist on it under any leader that emerged after the elections.

Panelist at the symposium tagged “BRF Gabfest 6” noted that Law and Order were the foundation of sustainable development and progress of any nation.

BRF Gabfest, is a youth-focused conversation platform created in 2016 to commemorate the Minister’s birthday.
This year’s edition explored the theme, “Why am I Voting?”
