International Author and Poet, Maggie Offoha, launches Three Books in Lagos

There is need for those aspiring to migrate outside the country to do due diligence through research before embarking on such journey.

This is to equip them with the necessary information about the country of their choice to avoid regrets and pressures of societal expectations.

A Nigerian-American author, Mrs Margaret Offoha, made the call at the official launch of her three books namely “Return to where I belong, Dark shadows on my path and Poetry for thought, held on Victoria Island.

Mrs Offoha who resides in the United States of America for over forty years, said the urge to come back to her fatherland inspired the documentation of her experiences outside the shores of the country.

While noting that migration has its pros and cons, the author who is also a Clinical Nurse practitioner urged Nigerians to revive the reading culture especially among the youths to be abreast of happening around the world, with a call on government to invest more in the youths who are the future leaders of the country.

The book reviewer, Mr Bonny Amadi who is the Founder of Newzmile Africa, commended the simplicity of language used in the book writing and recommended the book for academias.

In the same vein, a retired Broadcaster and former Head of Programmes at the Radio Nigeria’s National Broadcast Academy, Chief Chukwu Onyechuku, lauded the efforts of the author in bringing the rich cultural values of Nigeria to fore in the book.

Our Correspondent Yemisi Dada quotes the Chairman in the occasion, Mr Emma Kekere as advising parents to ensure there children are taught the language and culture of the tribe they belong to, no matter where they reside.

Other dignitaries at the Book launch noted that the book was easy to read as it was professionally edited with the vibrant personalities of the characters making it more captivating and compelling to read.
