Lagos Safety Commission Shuts down Six Lounges & Night Clubs

The Lagos State Safety Commission has sealed 6 lounges and night clubs in Ikeja as part of the year 2022 Zero Accident Campaign, ZAC, aimed at ensuring that all workplaces and public facilities are safe for all visitors and workers alike

In a statement, the Director-General of the Commission, Mr. Lanre Mojola explained that the Bars, Lounges and Night Clubs were sealed for contravening State regulations despite several efforts to ensure compliance.

Mr. Mojola listed some of the identified infractions made by the affected establishments to include: failure to obtain a safety compliance certificate, failure to register with the safety Commission through its www.lasgsafetyreg.com portal, lack of fire extinguishers, poor hygiene and housekeeping, lack of safety signages and also inadequate parking spaces thereby causing traffic gridlocks.

The Safety Commission Director-General reiterated that similar enforcement exercises would be carried out in other parts of the State as the Commission would not relent in the
discharge of its duties especially when it comes to ensuring a safer Lagos for all.

He therefore implored all business entities to regularize their safety management documentation.
