LASEMA To conduct Integrity Test on Buildings and Makeshift shops at venue of Igando pipeline vandalism

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, says it will carry out integrity tests on  buildings and makeshift shops around the vandalized pipeline in Igando area of the State.
LASEMA’s Director General, Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, made this known during a vulnerability analysis visit to the site over the weekend.

Dr Oke-Osanyintolu who said LASEMA and other responders were able to curtail the impact of the pipeline flammable product which was vandalized at midnight, commended members of the community for contacting the agency on time and cautioned them against indiscriminate burning of waste pending the conclusion of the risk analysis and integrity tests.

Reassuring them of the State Government’s commitment to the protection of lives and property as well as zero tolerance to the destruction of public facilities, Dr Oke-Osanyintolu said Lagosians should not be afraid to report vandals as the identity of whistleblowers would be protected.
The LASEMA DG noted that but for the timely intervention of first responders, the incident could have resulted into a major disaster
