NCAA Working to Certify Aircraft Fire Simulator for Firefighter Training…ADGCA

The Acting Director General, Civil Aviation Captain Chris Najomo says, work is ongoing to certify the aircraft fire simulator at the Nigeria College of Aviation Technology NCAT, Zaria, for the training of fire fighters in the aviation industry.

Captain Najomo who stated this during a visit of the members of the Nigerian Aviation Fire and Safety Association (NAFSA) in Abuja, asserted that the certification is at its final stages.

According to him, the NCAA Team assigned to carry out the certification are still working on the issues to make sure all certification requirements are met with a mix of short and long term Corrective Action Plans that NCAT submitted and NCAA has accepted.

Captain Najomo assured, he will continue to push to ensure that whatever is left for the Simulator to be certified will be fixed for the optimal utilization of the facility by the Firefighters.

The ADGCA commended the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo for causing the Aircraft Fire Simulator at NCAT to work which he considered as a great achievement after abandonment for a couple of years.

He praised NAFSA for pushing hard to ensure that the Simulator works and expressed the Authority’s willingness to collaborate with NAFSA and work together for the betterment of the aviation sector.

Responding, the President, NAFSA, Comrade Sunday Ugbeikwu, stressed that the gargantuan Simulator which is one of the best in the world has the propensity to generate huge revenue for the country, aside utilizing it for Firefighters Competency Trainings.

He urged ADGCA to use his good office and ensure that the Simulator is certified for use by Firefighters to commence their Competency Trainings at NCAT the only NCAA and International Civil Aviation Organization, ICAO Certified and Approved Training Organization(ATO) in Zaria where the machine is situated.
