Nigeria and Benin signs agreement on repair of six boats.

The Nigerian Navy and it’s Benin Republic counterpart have signed a contract agreement between the Nigeria Naval dockyard limited and the Benin Navy for the docking and repair of six patrol boats of Benin.

Performing the ceremony in Cotonou Benin Republic, the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla in a message, said it was a great stride in enhancing the capacity of the region  in the maritime security of the area.

The Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla represented by the Admiral Superintendent of the Naval dock yard limited Rear  Admiral Abolaji  Orederu said, ” the signing by both countries was a welcome development in reviving the fleet of the Benin navy to enhance their capability in the maritime domain “.

 ” This development the over dependence of Nigeria fleets in securing the region mainly will be a thing of the past as the Benin navy will be contributing their fighting boats too. ” Orederu

” The Naval dock yard has increased its capacity in building ships “. He said

Responding the Benin chief of the Naval staff Captain Jeon Leon Olatoundji thanked the Nigeria navy for accepting to repair its fleet and pledged total compliance to the project.
