NOA, FRCN Renews Collaboration on Reorientation of Nigerians

The National Orientation Agency, NOA and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, have made a renewed commitment to restoration of quality life in the country, through adequate reorientation beginning with mobilisation of the citizenry for active participation in the 2023 general election.

This renewed commitment was the core of discussion during a courtesy visit to the NOA State office, by a delegation of the Committee of Management, COM of FRCN, Lagos Operations, led by the Director, Mrs Bolanle Owoyemi.

Receiving the FRCN delegation, the Director of NOA in the State, Mr Waheed Ishola, pointed out that next year’s general election would redefine the nation and everyone should consider themselves critical stakeholders to ensure the success of the electoral process from the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration and voting on election days.

Mr Ishola who was dissatisfied with the low participation of eligible voters in the electoral process in lagos over the years, noted that the narrative can change for the better, with an improved synergy between the orientation agency and FRCN.

“As at the ninth of May, so bad Lagos had only over four hundred thousand registered online and only one hundred d eighty seven thousand completed their registration, while Osun State has over seven hundred thousand and we pride ourselves as the most populous state”.
Mr Ishola lauded the FRCN Lagos Operations comprising of the Zonal headquarters, Bond FM, Radio One FM and Metro FM for a long lasting relationship that offers the opportunity to give information on diverse programmes, while also describing the visit by the Committee of Management as first of its kind to the NOA office in lagos.

Earlier, the Director Lagos Operations of FRCN, Mrs Owoyemi explained that the visit was one of her planned courtesy calls on critical stakeholders in the state, in order to build a mutually rewarding relationship for the greater good of the corporation and country at large.

Mrs Owoyemi assured that the FRCN Lagos Operations would continuously partner with the National Orientation Agency for educative and enlightening messages to give hope to Nigerians despite the current challenges bedeviling the nation.

“I know that we have a lot to do together, we have the channel, you have the information, once you get the channel to the person that has the information, we drive both together and do the job the Federal Government has called us into, we are both Federal organs and we are children of the same father doing different things”.

The FRCN delegation received by a team of management staff of NOA, comprised of the Deputy Director News and Current Affairs, Mr Fred Shaka – Braimah, Deputy Director Marketing, Mr Istifanus Baba, the General Manager Bond FM, Princess Adenike Adegoke and that of Radio One FM, Mr Korede Ogunbunmi.

The FRCN, Lagos Operations Committee of Management recently paid a courtesy visit to the Lagos State office of the National Broadcasting Commission.
