NSE President Commends Lagos Rail Mass Transit Red Line Launch

The President, Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Mrs. Margaret Aina Oguntala, FNSE, has lauded the successful launch of passenger operations for the first phase of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Red Line. 

The event, which took place in Lagos Tuesday was graced by the presence of Governor Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu and other key stakeholders.

The Lagos Rail Mass Transit Red Line, a significant component of Lagos State’s Strategic Transport Master Plan, is one of several planned rail lines aimed at improving the state’s urban transportation system. 

The NSE President in a statement, commended the project’s completion, stressing its pivotal role in addressing traffic congestion and providing a more efficient and reliable mode of transportation for residents.

Mrs. Oguntala highlighted the importance of sustained investment in infrastructure development, emphasizing its positive impact on the economy and the quality of life of Lagosians. 

She also expressed her pride in the contribution of Nigerian engineers, led by Mrs. Abimbola Akinajo, FNSE, in the realization of this monumental project.
