Tinubu appeals for support for reforms as APC South West Assembly holds in Lagos

President Bola Tinubu says he is not thinking of his re-election in 2027, but rather his thoughts are on making the next generation better.

President Tinubu also appealed for support and patience from Nigerians for his administration to overcome challenges to move the country forward.

The President, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, said this at the All Progressives Congress (APC) 2024 South-West Zone Assembly held at Victoria Island.

He also promised to give serious considerations to all deliberations at the General Assembly saying there would be light at the end of the tunnel.

Also speaking, the South West Coordinator and Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu restated the commitment to explore ways at working more closely, collaboratively as well as effectively for the progress of the party and people for the rebirth of Nigeria to be on a forward trajectory.

He urged the people to believe in the leadership of President Tinubu and the renewed hope agenda, while urging members to embrace peace, forgiveness and reconciliation.

Governor of Ekiti, Biodun Oyebanji, urged support for President Tinubu’s administration and suggested the Assembly be replicated at State, local and ward levels, while his Ondo State Counterpart, Lucky Ayedatiwa, called for assessment of areas of comparative advantages while encouraging and empowering the youths with focus on Agriculture.

Earlier in his welcome address, National Vice Chairman, APC South-West Zone, Isaacs Kekemeke, expressed the unwavering commitment of the party to improve on its previous performance, plan ahead, mobilize on the need to engage the people while addressing
challenges to ensuring a greater future.

In his Keynote Address, former Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Kayode Fayemi, urged the party to commit to wealth and employment creation, skills acquisition to enhance national development, revamp education sector, empower women, youth, People With Disabilities and ensure the unity, peace, progress of the Country as well as create opportunities for all citizens.

Present at the event were APC Chieftains, Bisi Akande, Olusegun Osoba, Members of the South West National Assembly’s Caucus, Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, Former Governors and Deputy Governors, Women and Youth leaders.
