Youths Corps Members Charged to Promote Peace and Stability of Nigeria.

The State Coordinator, National Youths Service Corps, NYSC, Mrs. Yetunde Baderinwa made the plea at the Swearing- in of the 2024 Batch “B” Stream One Corps members posted to Lagos State, held at the NYSC Temporary Orientation camp, Iyana-Ipaja.

She said that one of the best form of patriotism any Nigerian could display was to engage in activities aimed at fostering peace and unity of the nation.

She stressed that since the National Youths Corps Members were part of the society, they could not be exempted from the train of individuals that were out to champion the sustenance of peace, unity and development of the country.

The NYSC boss in Lagos State therefore, urged the Corps members to avail themselves of the various educative programmes and opportunities packaged into their three weeks orientation course so as to gain relevant knowledge in areas that would better their lives and career.

Mrs Baderinwa called on the Corps members to shun tribal animosities and other anti-social activities that could endanger peaceful coexistence among the people.

In a message to the event, the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu advised the Corps members to adhere strictly to the Orientation camp rules in order to gain meaningfully from the Orientation course.

He encouraged the Corps members to take special interest in the various Skills acquisition training that they would be exposed to during the Orientation course, so as to have the required skills needed to create their own employment.

Mrs. Baderinwa however, thanked the Lagos State government for the provision of a 32-seater Hyundai bus for the use of the Scheme and Corps members in the state.

Justice Oluwatoyin Odusanya later administered the NYSC Oath of Allegiance on the Two Thousand, Eight Hundred and Twenty-two Corps members on the parade ground on behalf of the Chief Judge of Lagos State, Justice Kazeem Alogba.
