Aviation Minister constitutes Task Force to resolve MMIA relocation challenges

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo has constituted a task force to resolve the challenges at the Lagos International airport due to the ongoing relocation of passenger facilitation.

The relocation of passenger processing from the old terminal to the new one was necessitated by the recent fire outbreak at the Old terminal.

The primary objective of the task force as contained in a statement by the Head Press and Public Affairs in the Ministry, Oluseyi Odutayo is to resolve Passenger Concerns, minimize discomfort and ensure effective Public Communication.

The statement urges all passengers and other stakeholders to be patient and plead for understanding as this will play a vital role in making the transition smoother for everyone involved.

Members of the task force are: Hassan Musa, Adebayo Oladipo and Mr. Collins Mukoro.

Others are; Mrs. Uyoyou Edhekpo and Mr. Henry Agbebire.

It will be recalled that during the Minister’s inspection of the Lagos Airport on Thursday 31st August 2023, he had given a deadline of October, 1 2023 for the relocation.

However, the management of Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) had to fast track the implementation of this directive in response to the recent fire outbreak which raised safety concerns and affected passengers’ movements.
