The Chairman of Ojodu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. David Odunmbaku, has urged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) not to lose faith in the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu despite the security challenges facing the country.
Odunmbaku made the appeal while addressing party members in Ward E during an ongoing series of meetings across the six wards in the council area.
The council chairman acknowledged growing concerns over insecurity but maintained that the Federal Government is taking deliberate and strategic steps to tackle the problem.
According to him, President Tinubu inherited longstanding security challenges and has continued to strengthen the nation’s security architecture through increased support for security agencies, improved welfare for personnel and collaboration with international partners.
“We have just concluded our party primaries, but our attention must now turn to the bigger task ahead, which is the 2027 presidential election,” Odunmbaku said.
“We are all aware of the security challenges facing our country today. Some people blame President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and claim that he is not doing enough. However, it is important to remember that these challenges did not begin with his administration.”
He said the President has continued to invest in the nation’s security agencies, improve the welfare of soldiers and police officers, and support efforts aimed at strengthening community-based policing and other security initiatives.
“The President is putting in place mechanisms to address insecurity. Nigeria is also working with international partners to enhance its security capabilities. I want to assure you that this government has the interest of Nigerians at heart,” he said.
Odunmbaku urged APC members to remain steadfast and continue supporting the party ahead of the next general election.
“We must remain united, support our party and continue to work together for a safer and more prosperous Nigeria. Do not give up on President Tinubu or the APC,” he added.
As part of efforts to strengthen security within Ojodu LCDA, the chairman also held a strategic meeting with representatives of security agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and the Nigerian Legion.
He charged the security agencies to maintain professionalism and intensify efforts to combat criminal activities, particularly drug abuse, cultism and other social vices within the community.
Odunmbaku reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting security agencies and ensuring the safety of lives and property across the council area.
He said sustained collaboration between government, security agencies and residents remains critical to addressing emerging security threats and maintaining peace within the community.
