Ahead of its two years in office, the administration of President Bola Tinubu has been commended for its reformative policies that have made the country improve its international image.
A Monarch, the Olugbo of Ugbo Kingdom, in Ilaje area of Ondo State, Oba Obateru Akinruntan, gave the commendation in a chat with newsmen in Ikoyi while assessing the two years in office of President Tinubu.
Oba Akinruntan who acknowledged that though some of the economic reforms may be harsh, noted that they were reforms crucial for progress and prosperity.
The Monarch urged Nigerians to exercise patience with the current administration, pointing out that, there is no gain without pain.
He expressed optimism that dividends of democracy would be enjoyed by all citizens.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the best President Nigeria ever had, I have known him for many years and he has never failed, his policies may make people shout now, but I can assure you he means well for Nigerians and the dividends of democracy will soon be visible for all to see”
“You all saw what the President did in Lagos, Tinubu is a strategist and he knows what he is doing, I will just appeal to Nigerians to trust more in him and give him a return to office in 2027, to finish all he started and I am sure by the end of his tenure in 2031, Nigerians will appreciate the man more” Oba Akinruntan said
While refuting rumors of his death, Oba Akinruntan attributed the fake news to the handiwork of naysayers.
He called on his people and other indigenes of Ondo State to disregard the rumours, with a promise to continue to support the less privileged in the society.
“They don’t say a king has died, but gone to meet his ancestors but here I am, at least you can see me, speak with me, then why will some people say I am dead, it is the handiwork of evil people who wish me bad, but God is greater than them, my time is not now, I have invested heavily in humanitarian services, I am an Oba with only one wife, an oil merchant, OBAT Oil, if you have heard about it, and I support the less privileged in the society, so why will anyone wish me dead, well to God be the glory, I am hale and hearty, I will continue to do good to my Ilaje people and Ondo State in particular, so help me God” says the Monarch
The Monarch urged the federal government to collaborate more with traditional rulers across the country to promote peace and stability .
