Saidat Odofin-Fafowora Emerges PDP Flag Bearer in Ikorodu Central LGA Ahead of Lagos Local Government Election on July 12

The People’s Democratic Party in Ikorodu has held its Primaries election in the six Council Area and LCDAs to elect the Chairmanship flag-bearer for the July 12, local government election in Lagos, with Mrs Saidat Odofin-Fafowora emerging as the flag bearer for Ikorodu Central Chairmanship in Lagos Council Election on July 12.

Primaries was also conducted in the thirty political wards to elect Councilors in Ikorodu, however three wards from Imota did not field any aspirant.

Speaking with newsmen the PDP Chairman in Ikorodu, Dr Olanrewaju Oshin, said five Chairmen and twenty six Councilors emerged through consensus while there were election in three wards.

Dr Oshin urged all party members to exercise the spirit of sportsmanship and work together to ensure their candidates emerge winners in the local government election with assurance that PDP will win sixty percent in the election.

“PDP in Ikorodu is ready for the election and I can assure you that though we can’t win all but my party will win sixty percent of the election come July 12, I just want to appeal to all party members to respect the outcome of today’s primary and move together for the progress and unity of PDP in Ikorodu to emerge victorious”

After a voice note by Ikorodu Central Council executive, Mrs Saidat Odofin-Fafowora emerged as the flagbearer and she promised to ensure Ikorodu culture and glory is restored with dignified education for children at the grassroots.

She expressed optimism that the July 12 local government election will favour her party in the ancient Town as she will be bringing her wealth of international experience to bare.

“Our people deserves better in Ikorodu, and I have gone round I see that major roads receive attention but most inner roads are left unattended, I am going to ensure that our women have access to loans for trading, good education for our children and also focus will be in mental health, insecurity among other things” we must restore the dignity and culture of Ikorodu as done internationally where I come from and that should be a plus to Ikorodu people”

A Party Chieftain, Mr James Ogunsanya, described the conduct of the primary election as free and fair but however,appealed to all aggrieved parties to sheathe their sword and work together for the victory of the party in the Council Poll.

“The party primary election has been free and fair except for few wards which will be resolved internally, there is no problem, we all owns the party together, Ikorodu members are united and fighting for a common goal of victory for the party come July 12”

The PDP Primary election was supervised by seven representatives from the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission, LASIEC, but they refused to speak with the press.
