FG Declares June 12 Public Holiday for Democracy Day

The Federal Government has declared Thursday, June 12, 2025, a public holiday to commemorate this year’s Democracy Day celebration.

In a statement released by Dr. Magdalene Ajani, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, the Minister, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, congratulated Nigerians on 26 years of uninterrupted democratic governance.

He described June 12 as a powerful symbol of Nigeria’s commitment to truth, justice, peace, and a renewed hope for the future.

The Minister reaffirmed the Tinubu administration’s dedication to upholding democratic ideals and governance rooted in the will of the people.
