A fire outbreak has destroyed the Kara Wood and Timber Market in Birnin Kebbi, the capital of Kebbi State, causing extensive damage to shops and property worth millions of naira.
Eyewitnesses say the fire started in the early hours of Sunday and spread rapidly before emergency responders could arrive.
Despite the scale of destruction, no lives were lost.
The Kebbi State Government has expressed sympathy with those affected.
The Deputy Governor, who visited the scene, announced a ₦10 million donation on behalf of the state to support the victims.
The cause of the fire is still unknown as investigations continue.
