Presidential Aide Aliyu Audu Resigns with Immediate Effect

Aliyu Audu has formally resigned from his position as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, effective immediately.

In a resignation letter dated June 8, 2025, and addressed to President Bola Tinubu through the Chief of Staff, Audu expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve, describing the experience as both “an honour and a privilege.”

“I remain deeply grateful to you, Mr. President, for the opportunity to serve my fatherland under your visionary leadership,” Audu wrote.

“It has been an honour to contribute to the public communication efforts of this administration.”

Audu also acknowledged Ajuri Ngelale, former Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, for nominating him to the role.

He was nominated on August 26, 2023, and officially appointed by the President on October 9, 2023.

While no specific reason was provided for his resignation, Audu extended his best wishes to the administration and pledged his continued support and prayers for its success and the progress of the nation.
