The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced the appointment of Mary Akinsola as the new media officer for the Super Falcons, the country’s senior women’s national football team.
In a statement released on Thursday, the NFF described Akinsola as a seasoned professional with over a decade of experience in sports communications and media management.
Akinsola’s career spans several international and local roles, including her time with Warner Bros Discovery (Eurosport) as a production and commentary coordinator.
She also served as a sports writer, editor, and digital media manager with Sportsgazette UK, and worked as a podcast host and writer for ACLSports.
Locally, she gained valuable experience at the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS) where she worked as a sportscaster, writer, and producer.
Mary Akinsola holds a master’s degree in International Sports Journalism from St. Mary’s University, London, and brings a rich blend of domestic and international expertise to her new role with the Super Falcons.
Her appointment is expected to boost the team’s media relations and visibility ahead of upcoming international engagements.
