The Director-General of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Dr. Mohammed Bulama, has urged Nigerians to give their unwavering support to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as he undertakes the difficult but necessary task of reforming the nation.
Dr. Bulama made this call in Lagos during the distribution of food items, delivery of medical services, and awarding of business grants to residents of Ejigbo and Isolo Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs).
The outreach was organized by the newly inaugurated Abosede Tomori Foundation (ATF), established in memory of the late mother of Mr. Segun Tomori, Special Assistant to the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Dele Alake.
The event aligns with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda focused on grassroots economic empowerment and improved welfare for Nigerians.
Dr. Bulama praised President Tinubu’s courage in tackling longstanding national challenges, assuring Nigerians that the president’s reforms would soon yield positive results.
“All other leaders before him have avoided the difficult process of reforming Nigeria. He has taken the bull by the horns, and in the next couple of years, things will change. Nigeria will flourish as a great country,” Dr. Bulama said.
He commended Mr. Tomori for launching the foundation at a young age, describing him as “a rare breed with great potential.” Dr. Bulama emphasized that Tomori’s initiative resonates with FRCN’s motto of uplifting the people and uniting the nation, adding that FRCN came from Abuja to support the occasion because it aligns with the Federal Government’s vision.
Highlighting the cultural significance of Tomori naming the foundation after his late mother, Dr. Bulama said it reflects deep respect and values, praising Tomori’s upbringing and commitment to community development.
Representing the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Dele Alake, Special Adviser Mr. Kehinde Bamigbetan also lauded Tomori’s efforts, describing them as “brilliant, compassionate, progressive, and timely.”
He urged Nigerians to emulate Tomori by finding ways to support people in their communities, noting that grassroots interventions complement government efforts.
In his remarks, Mr. Tomori explained that ATF’s mission is “uplifting lives and building communities,” inspired by his mother’s legacy of helping those in need. The foundation, he said, will operate in five key areas:
-Health outreach to the less privileged,
-Skill development and scholarships for disadvantaged youths,
-School intervention programs to help indigent children access education,
-Food support for struggling families,
-Cash grants to boost micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
At the launch, ATF provided medical services and food items to 250 residents of Ejigbo and Isolo LCDAs, and awarded grants of ₦50,000 each to 50 micro and small business owners.
Tomori stated, “Our mission at ATF is to honour my mother’s legacy of generosity by transforming lives and building communities. Our vision is to shape communities where dignity defines the human experience.”
He emphasized the foundation’s role in advancing President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda by ensuring interventions reach the grassroots.
The Director-General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), represented by the Lagos State Director, Dr. Mustafa Adedeji Tukur, pledged NOA’s support to help ATF achieve its objectives.
He highlighted NOA’s recent efforts to foster unity and socioeconomic empowerment, encouraging the foundation to leverage the agency’s programmes.
Some beneficiaries expressed their gratitude, saying the support would significantly improve their lives.
The event drew key stakeholders, including community leaders, religious figures, APC officials, youth associations, and market groups.
