The National Association of Nigeria Travel Agencies (NANTA) has pledged its commitment to work closely with the Federal Government in advancing Nigeria’s travel and tourism industry.
This assurance came during a courtesy visit to the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, over the weekend where NANTA executives engaged the Minister on ways to support the country’s evolving travel landscape.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo, who welcomed the delegation, reaffirmed the government’s openness to collaboration, stressing that leadership thrives on stakeholder input.
He expressed appreciation for NANTA’s patriotic outlook and assured the delegation of government’s support for credible and organized associations that contribute to national development.
The minister also emphasized Nigeria’s cultural pride and the resilience of its people, describing them as “hospitable, productive, and uniquely gifted.”
Addressing visa policy concerns, the Minister clarified that Nigeria’s approach is guided by reciprocity, adding that the country maintains fairness in its international relations.
He urged Nigerians to promote a positive image of their country, affirming that “Nigeria will rebound.”
“Every good leadership takes feedback from stakeholders”, he noted underscoring the importance of inclusive governance.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo pledged to open structured channels for continued dialogue and collaboration with NANTA in support of national goals.
NANTA President, Mr. Yinka Folami, commended the Minister’s reform efforts and praised his responsiveness to industry concerns.
He said NANTA has observed with admiration the Minister’s consistency in turning policy promises into tangible actions.
According to him, the Minister’s prompt approval of the meeting was a clear sign of his commitment to progress.
Highlighting NANTA’s role as a long-standing advocate for Nigeria’s image abroad, Mr. Folami said the 50-year-old Association continues to project the country positively across Africa, Europe, the UK, and the Americas.
As a gesture of partnership, NANTA presented a commemorative plaque to the Minister, celebrating his leadership and affirming the Association’s readiness for sustained engagement.
