FRCN Seeks Stronger Collaboration with LaSG, Proposes Traffic Radio Station

The Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) has reaffirmed its commitment to partnering with the Lagos State Government in promoting and disseminating people-centered policies through its three FM stations: Metro FM, Bond FM, and Radio Nigeria One.

Director General of FRCN, Dr. Mohammed Bulama, made the pledge during a visit to the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Gbenga Omotosho, at Alausa, Ikeja.

He led a delegation of senior management staff on the visit.

Describing Lagos as the socio-economic hub of Nigeria, Dr. Bulama commended Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his administration’s visible achievements, particularly in the areas of infrastructure and the development of the Lagos light rail system.

He expressed appreciation for the support shown by the Lagos State Government after a fire incident gutted the live studios of Metro FM and Radio One FM in 2024.

Dr. Bulama appealed for the government’s assistance in rebuilding the affected facilities in Ikoyi.

The FRCN boss also revealed plans to establish a dedicated traffic radio station in Lagos, aligning with the corporation’s ongoing efforts to embrace technology for improved service delivery.

The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Gbenga Omotosho—represented by the Director of Public Affairs, Mr. Olusegun Ogundeji—praised the FRCN stations for their consistent and balanced coverage of government programmes.

He assured the Director General of continued collaboration and pledged state support toward the rehabilitation of the damaged studios.

“We acknowledge the important role your stations play in informing the public. The government will consider ways to assist with the rebuilding of the burnt facilities. We will continue to strengthen our partnership,” he said.

On the upcoming local government elections in the state, FRCN Lagos Director, Mrs. Bolanle Owoyemi, assured of the corporation’s full coverage, in line with its motto, “Uplifting the people and uniting the nation.”

Other members of the FRCN delegation included Mr. Osana Omame, Director of Corporate Development and Communications, and other senior officials.
