The Minister of Works, Mr. David Umahi, has lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s emergence as Nigeria’s leader, describing his victory as divinely ordained despite pre-election challenges.
Speaking to journalists in Lagos, the former Ebonyi State Governor and Senator highlighted the Tinubu administration’s achievements in the Southeast, particularly in infrastructure development.
He cited the ongoing Trans-Saharan Highway project and major road rehabilitations as key milestones that previous administrations failed to deliver.Rejecting what he called “empty criticism,” Umahi challenged the President’s detractors to present viable alternatives and proven track records.
“Talk is cheap,” he said, insisting that constructive opposition must be based on substance, not sentiment.
He also commended President Tinubu’s inclusive and non-vindictive style of leadership, expressing confidence that all Southeast governors—regardless of political affiliation—would rally behind him in the 2027 general elections.
Calling for political harmony, the Minister warned against divisive rhetoric that could derail the region’s progress.
“The Southeast now has a voice at the center,” he said. “We must not squander this opportunity.”Umahi urged stakeholders across the region to prioritize unity and development over partisanship.
