Top African Artists Join Forces with Global Campaign to Protect Wildlife Through Music

A new musical movement aimed at saving Africa’s wildlife is making waves across the continent and beyond, as a star-studded concert series titled “Music for Wildlife” launches on Trace Global Network TV and streaming platforms.

The innovative campaign fuses the power of music with the urgency of conservation, spotlighting some of Africa’s biggest musical talents as champions for endangered species and threatened ecosystems.

Produced by conservation NGO Wild Africa in collaboration with OAS1SONE, a cutting-edge platform for immersive music experiences, the series brings together over 150 artists from across the continent.

Their shared mission: to raise awareness about the dire threats facing Africa’s wildlife and inspire a collective response.

Supported by the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW), the series features weekly 24-minute episodes blending live studio performances with emotionally charged conservation storytelling.

Audiences will be treated to electrifying acts from stars such as CKay, Focalistic, Musa Keys, Kamo Mphela, Vinka, Feli Nandi, Shekhinah, Azawi, Joyous Celebration, and Zakes Bantwini—all performing in honor of Africa’s rich natural heritage.

“We Nigerians love our music and culture, but where is the love for our wildlife?” asked Nigerian superstar CKay. “Because of habitat loss, poaching, and the illegal bushmeat trade, we risk losing them forever. Let’s give our wildlife some space and some love.”

Africa, home to 25% of the world’s biodiversity, is grappling with major conservation challenges.

According to the WWF 2024 Living Planet Index, global wildlife populations have plunged by 76% in just five decades.

The continent faces the brunt of threats like poaching, deforestation, habitat loss, human-wildlife conflict, and illegal wildlife trade, yet its music remains a force for unity and healing.

Olivier Laouchez, Co-founder and Executive Chairman of Trace Group, expressed pride in the collaboration:

“African artists are very powerful voices and can make the difference in raising awareness for better wildlife protection. Trace is proud to host the ‘Music for Wildlife’ shows, which align perfectly with our values and initiatives.”

The series is expected to reach over 350 million viewers in 190 countries, blending culture with environmental activism.

“Trace appeals to the youth, which is the future of Africa,” said Peter Knights OBE, CEO of Wild Africa. “Their passion will be vital to conserve the world’s most incredible wildlife and the natural foundation on which all human life depends.”

From Cape Town to Lagos, Harare to Windhoek, participating artists are using their voices to stir conscience and action. Their performances urge fans to reconnect with nature, protect national parks, and resist the destruction of wildlife habitats.

South African Amapiano star Focalistic emphasized the economic importance of conservation:

“Wildlife and national parks create a lot of jobs in Africa by attracting tourists from across the world. Let’s use music and art to protect our amazing wildlife.”

Jandre Louw, CEO of OAS1SONE, described the partnership as a groundbreaking effort:

“This collaboration not only drives global awareness for Africa’s wildlife but also catapults African music and talent to millions worldwide.”

IFAW President and CEO Azzedine Downes added that the organization has long believed in the role of the arts in conservation:

“In recognizing wildlife’s existence, we must also recognize its vulnerability. We’re proud to be part of a project that blends culture and conservation for a world where animals and people thrive together.”

The “Music for Wildlife” series began airing weekly in July 2025. Viewers can catch the shows on Trace TV channels and streaming platforms globally. With each performance, the artists aren’t just sharing their music—they are lending their voices to a cause that affects every living creature on the planet.
