An Emergency Management Response Systems has been launched in Makurdi by Governor Hyacinth Alia as a platform for quick response and feed back mechanism on herdsmen attacks, road accidents, fire and flood disasters.
Also launched is a Q-Twenty drone surveillance services with an endurance time of seven hours and flight capacity distance of one hundred and fifty kilometers.The emergency platforms were facilitated by the Benue Statement Emergency Management Agency in collaboration with the Benue Digital Infrastructure Company, BDIC.
Governor Alia who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs Selumun Aber stated that the essence of the online handles was to ensure that information on insecurity and other emergency situations in the State gets to the right persons as quickly as possible.
The platform is designed to accelerate emergency response by ensuring that accurate information reaches the appropriate authorities in real time.
Governor Alia urged the people of the State not to abuse the digital platforms which QR codes would be made available to the public to achieve the purpose they were created.
Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management and SEMA, Sir James Iorpuu explained that the step taken was to guarantee a smarter and transparent process of responding to humanitarian situation in the State.

Managing Director, Benue Digital Infrastructure Company, BDIC, Terwase Gbande encouraged the people of Benue to make use of the digital revolution provided by the Benue State Emergency Management Agency on issues of emergency and humanitarian situations.
Chairman, Benue State House of Assembly Standing Committee on ICT and Digital Economy, Mr Kennedy Angbo said the innovation was the best gift the present administration has given to the people.
