FRSC Commends First Lady’s ₦110m Aid to Crash Victims‎

The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has lauded First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for donating ₦110 million to support victims of road crashes.

‎The donation will assist the families of 22 Kano athletes who died in a fatal road accident earlier this year.

‎Mohammed described the gesture as an uncommon act of compassion and a reflection of the Renewed Hope Agenda in action, adding that it would bring relief and restore dignity to the affected families.

‎He reaffirmed the FRSC’s resolve to minimise road traffic crashes and ensure prompt post-crash care in line with the United Nations Decade of Action on Road Safety.

‎In a related development, Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has signed an Executive Order for strict enforcement of traffic regulations, with special focus on compliance with traffic lights in the Kano metropolis.

‎The Governor directed FRSC and the Kano Road Traffic Agency (KAROTA) to work together for effective implementation, stressing that stronger enforcement, synergy, and public education are vital to reducing accidents.

‎Responding to the directive, the Corps Marshal pledged to deploy more personnel, intensify public enlightenment, and ensure that violators, especially those who run red lights, face the full weight of the law.

‎He called on corporate bodies, state governments, and citizens to support law enforcement agencies, emphasising that road safety is a shared responsibility.
