The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriation and Senator representing Ogun West, Solomon Adeola, fondly called Yayi has distributed one hundred and two transformers to four hundred and thirty-five Community Development Areas across the three senatorial districts of Ogun State, to mark his 56th birthday.
Senator Adeola, who also supported the energisation of the transformers, said the initiative aligned with President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to improving electricity supply in communities nationwide.
The transformers, with capacities ranging from 500kVA/33, 500kVA/11, 300kVA/33 to 300kVA/11, were distributed based on the needs of the beneficiary communities.
A total of seventeen local government areas benefited from the scheme, including Yewa North, Ado Odo-Ota, Yewa South, Abeokuta North, Ifo, Obafemi Owode, Ewekoro, Sagamu, Ijebu Ode, Odogbolu, Ipokia, Ijebu North East, Ikenne, Ijebu East, Remo North, Abeokuta South, and Ijebu North.
In an interview with his Chief of Staff, Chief Kayode Odunaro said the gesture by Senator Adeola was in response to numerous requests from residents.
“So today, the office and well-wishers who are in Abuja decided to honour him by celebrating him, even in his absence. As I’m speaking to you, there are three celebration in each of the senatorial districts by people who admire the way he has impacted on their lives through empowerment, building of infrastructure under the renewed hope agenda, and doing a lot of things that has helped at least over fifty thousand people who have directly benefited from this Senator in terms of training equipment being donated to German scholarship for over 5000 market women, over forty thousand market women were given grant region from fifty thousand to seventy-five thousand Naira grants, not loan, all through this same senator.
Speaking during the Event in Abuja, the Ag. Executive Chairman Federal Character Commission, Mr Kayode Oladele, who was also the chairman of the occasion, stated that Yayi’s birthday marks not merely the passage of another year but a moment of deep significance for the people of Ogun West, Ogun State, and Nigeria at large.
“The 56th birthday of Senator Adeola is not just a personal milestone; it is a celebration of impactful leadership, transformational representation, and a lifelong commitment to public service and philanthropy.
“As Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriation, Senator Adeola has played a pivotal role in shaping Nigeria’s fiscal priorities, ensuring that national resources are deployed to address pressing developmental needs, while also championing fairness in federal allocations to all regions.
“Beyond the hallowed chambers of the Senate, Senator Adeola has distinguished himself as a man deeply connected to the grassroots. His tenure has been marked by visible and measurable projects in human capital development, rural infrastructure, healthcare, education, and economic empowerment.
